THE BUZZ: This art-house release has been timed to coincide with star James McAvoy's X-momentum, but to us it's a litmus test for audience interest in the source material's creator,Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh. It's not a stretch to say the story looks like what might have happened if Renton enrolled in the police academy instead of apartment rentals.
