THE BUZZ: Don McKellar has one of the greatest indie filmographies around, and maybe his remake of the Quebecois dramedy Seducing Doctor Lewis will help introduce Taylor Kitsch as a potential leading man in art-house circles. What's not being shown in the movie's marketing is the fact that Kitsch's doctor gets busted for cocaine possession at the beginning of the story.

And we love that she considers this story to be the kind of movie she can watch with her children. THE BUZZ: Filmmaker Jim Mickle has flirted with breakthrough success before; both Stake Landand his remake of We Are What We Are pleased genre fans while ekeing out a bit of mainstream success, but its this Texas-set thriller that has earned distinct praise. It's the kind of starring role we'd hope Michael C. Hall would earn as "Dexter" wound down, and we can't wait to see how he handles being an unexpected hero who finds himself pulled into the underworld of his small town.
